City of Lost Angels concert

Another friday night concert at the Water Court turned out to be a very interesting one.
The music was strange to me being Algerian and sounding middle eastern but still good listening.
The Music style is a mix of modern, western rythmes and technology with a traditional music line. Growing out of north-western Algeria, and has reached all corners of the world. The most prominent performers are now living abroad, mainly in France. The Arabic word ra'yy is the common word for 'opinion, view, notion'. More than any other form of Arab music, Rai has been the object of world attention, as are performers like Khaled. I went on bike, found a ok spot to sit and listen, but not with a real good view. Met a couple of nice people and took some pix here and there. Later found a few people from the MyPC group and hung out till the end. Overall not a bad evening to do something different and get new exposure to another Culture.
