Biking to E.L.A.

I been working on my truck lately. Trying to find somewhere to have my Master Cylinder rebuilt. Last year i had it done at some shop over in East L.A. for $35.00 but this time they were trying to take me for a whopping $110.00 ! What a price jump! So after i was told how much it would run i told them forget it, i'd be by to pick it up!
Now its a ways from where i live to their shop but after finding no one around to give me a ride i thought hey, why don't i just jump on my bike and peddle on over! God only knows how i need the excerise (even as fit as i look) and besides, i really wanted to do this ride as a kinda adventure across town. I took my camera and water bottle, backpack and i was ready to fly.

When i hit the streets, it felt good for some reason...
I guess it was my way of seeing and experiencing the whole city (so to speak) on a area by area level. I seemed to get stuck downtown snapping all the angles of landscape and buildings as if i were a tourist.

I really needed to move on as time was soon to be traffic hour. I put the camera away and started making my way through to the eastside crossing the 7th street bridge. I was having a good ol time just riding along and looking at everything interesting big or small.

I got to the shop tired and when i was told that my part wasn't there and they would go get it, well i wasn't sure to be mad or grateful because it would take a half hour to do this. I choose the later! I sat and rested til i would be ready for the trip all the way back.
I took my time once again and admired everything around me. It was like a tour through all the area i only drove past without ever really experiencing it on this more personal level.
The total time wasn't bad at all... I left here at 2:35 and made it back as the sun set, 6:30 or so.
I'm looking forward to doing this more often and in other directions. I'd like to see if i can shoot night scapes if my camera does a good job...

I made a mental note to self...Buy a New Seat!!! A padded gel one!!!!!
