85 miles per hour hanging by a thread...
and loving it!
Of course you could also relate that to 85 feet per hour to get to it!
But man...what a fricken rush!!
Magic Mushroom...uh, Magic Mountain..oh, same difference just a different way of aproaching a "high" on another level. It was just awesome! Those rides kick azz baby!
It was one of those nights...
Running slightly behind waiting for the other carload to show up and it being a closed to public event, we needed to get on our way asap!
It was starting to rain lightly as we entered the onramp and headed for the I5 north. No sooner did we get closer to Burbank did everything we hoped for come to a quick halt! This 35 min. trip was gonna become a lot longer now!
We stood in traffic for some time before i finally realized and opened my mouth to suggest getting off and use the mainstreet that runs all along. We did and that got us back on track, but i was mentally kicking myself for not mentioning it sooner! We were sorta wondering what all the drama was about cause for the longest way they had the freeway shut down and police were all over the place. I said it must have been something big... and it was.
A couple of cops were shot in a shootout, one died.
We jumped back on once past everything and were now flying!
We finally pulled up but couldn't find a decent parking place and as it turned out when we did...it was for the handicapped, which almost seemed to feel that way, the way everything had gone so far ! We once again moved to another location to park,way-way in the back somewhere! At least we were now all out and making our way in the right direction! It was almost 9pm now and the park closed at 1am. It opened at 7pm so we were behind alright!
I was thinking some negative thoughts at first when we were stuck on the freeway but then caught myself and put that in check real quick, I snapped out of it! We were gonna make the best of it regardless! and we did!! We had some fun!
I told one of my friends that if i couldn't "hang" with these wildn'crazy rides anymore, i knew i was old!
Funny, i didn't really see anyone around my age in line (hehe).
All i can say is that we had a great time and those rides...
were all so worth it!!
